Kimberly Suraj, Founder and Director, Dragonfly Nutrition

From a young age, health and fitness were always important to me. I competed in aerobics, sports, and generally enjoyed being active.

What got me even more interested in food and healthy eating was witnessing first hand, my grandmother's struggle with Type 1 Diabetes.

In researching ways to prevent low blood sugars, "managing your diet" was a common theme.

I decided to pursue a career in Nutrition and Dietetics to help people manage and even prevent diabetes, heart disease, provide medical nutrition therapy for epileptic kids, and assist with weight management.

I also enjoy trying new recipes, especially healthier alternatives to traditional junk foods, pilates, dancing, and exploring the outdoors.

My Qualifications:

I hold a Bachelor’s degree (2010) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, a post-graduate diploma in Institutional Community Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of the West Indies Trinidad and Tobago, and a post-graduate Diabetes Educator Certificate from The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in Canada.

I am also specialized in Digestive health wellness, and managing clients suffering from Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Also, I have a great interest in managing children who are epileptic.

I'm registered with The Council for Health Professionals Related to Medicine, Registration Number 767
